My Bio
Born in Detroit, Michigan; She moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 2005.  She will graduate in May 2010 with 2 Associate Degrees from John C. Calhoun Community College.  She has received a scholarship and will go on to pursue her Baccalaureate Degree in Education at Athens State University.  Joanne lives  with her young daughter that is on the Autism Spectrum.  Her parents live nearby and help out when needed.  Joanne underwent a Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass in 2003 and has suffered severe neurological and other side effects from the surgery that have left her using a wheelchair for the rest of her life.  Joanne is involved in numerous community activities that include Habitat for Humanity—which built her home that was completed in June 2009, Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama, her local Community Watch Program and Autism Support & Awareness Groups.  Joanne has had a career as a Traffic & Continuity Manager in broadcasting with most of her years spent with ABC-Disney in Detroit.  She made a career change and made Huntsville her permanent home.  She hopes to teach in the Huntsville School System after certification is complete.  Joanne enjoys living a life of service to others and will continue to do so as long as she is able.
