March 2010

30th - Autism Legislative Day in Montgomery, AL

Meeting with Legislators to advocate for important issues relating to Autism.  1 in 110 is the current  statistic.  If your child is on the spectrum please get involved and make your voice heard for your child.

April 2010

9th -    Mayor Tommy Battle reads proclamation of  Huntsville declaring April as Autism 
             Awareness Month.

10th - Walk for Autism at Chapman Middle School (track)
              8:30 AM - Noon
              $25/walker pre-registered or $30/walker the day of walk

22nd - AL DAN (Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Network) Meeting
              Alabama Power
              Birmingham, AL
             Outreach Advocacy for All Alabamians with Disabilities

24th - Bowl-A-Thon benefiting Spina Bifida
             I am helping my friend Kayla Beard, 1st Runner Up in the Ms. Wheelchair Alabama 
            Foundation Pageant.  She is putting on this event to raise money for Spina Bifida which she
            has had all her life.  Please email me at if you would like to

May 2010
13th - Huntsville City Council Meeting.  One of my girl scout troops in my unit is
             receiving recognition and presenting blankets to the fire department from a community
             service project that the troop completed.

15th - Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama Annual Meeting
             Alabama Power
             I am a Delegate and vote on important bylaw changes and board members that will serve
             the council.

21st - Field Day at Farley.  I will be volunteering to be the "BooBoo Mom"

June 2010

1st-19th - I am looking for sponsorship donations in order to get to Ms. Wheelchair America
            Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We still need another $750 for the final payment
            of the entry fee.  We will be fundraising until June 19th.  Please contact the  Ms. Wheelchair
           Alabama Foundation to make a donation or you can make one at any Wacovia Bank.

12th - BOWLATHON to benefit The Abilities Council.  Madison Bowling Center at 5PM - 7:30PM.
            We are recruiting teams now.  Please call 256-457-9206 if interested in bowling.  Free
             T-shirts to teams that register by June 8th.  If you own a business or know a business that
             is willing to donate merchandise or a service to our Silent Auction please have them
            contact us as well.  All donations are Tax Deductible under the 501c3 status. 
            Thanks for participating and supporting our efforts in providing a new service to the
            community of North Alabama!

July 2010

July is ADA Month and I will be participating in many events.  If you would like me to appear at your event please contact me soon so I can add it to my calendar and not over book.  thanks!

9th -  15th Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant (NATIONALS)
             Grand Rapid, Michigan at the Amway Grand Hotel and Convention Center.  
23rd - Classes begin at Athens State University
27th - Poker Run to benefit MDA
31st - Business and Talent Night at Attitudes Day Spa in Huntsville

31st - Induction into the Athens State University, Phi Theta Kappa Internation Honor Society Alumni Association.  Installed as Vice President of Fellowship & Service for the 2011-2012 Academic Year.

2nd - MS Walk at Huntsville Botanical Garden
9th - Kidney Walk at Matthew Frank Stadium
12th - My daughters Birthday, she turned 11
15th - 17th - Girl Scout Camporee 2011 in Anniston, AL.  Took 90 Girl Scouts camping and had a blast.
23rd - Ms. Wheelchair Alabama 2011 Pageant.  I will give my farewell speech.  It has been an amazing year.  Thank you to all of my friends, family and supporters.
